Chair of the Northland College Board of Trustees since 2002. Trustee since 1997. John N. Allen is the owner and CEO of Industrial Equities L.L.P. in Minneapolis, a real estate, development, and management firm he founded in 1983. As a student at Northland College, John served as a Student Trustee. John has credited Northland College with establishing a foundation of skills and high expectations that enabled him to become a business leader.
As a member of the Board of Trustees, John serves on the Executive Committee, as well as the Enrollment & Marketing, Business Affairs, Trusteeship, and Buildings and Grounds committees. As the chair of the Buildings and Grounds committee, he helped develop financial backing and construction of multiple projects including the McLean Environmental Living and Learning Center, the Larson-Juhl Center for Science and the Environment and the June and Craig Ponzio Campus Center.
