The existing BART Bus service has been providing transportion from community to community around the Chequamegon Bay for many years. However in the spring of 2007 the Northland College Student Association (NCSA) agreed to increse student fees in order to give Northland Student unlimited ridership on the BART and to fund BART to begin service on Saturdays.
Northland graduate Brandon Boys, Chairman of the BART Board and Ashland City Council Member, is greatly responsible for seeing this initiative come into action working with NCSA and students for the past several years.
